Do you just want to escape the daily grind and get out of your daily routine? On a winter holiday in the Netherlands, you can enjoy the beautiful aspects of the cold season together with your loved ones.
Let yourself be inspired by what you can discover and experience the surroundings of our holiday parks in winter: from trying out traditional Dutch dishes and relaxing in a spa to having lots of fun with winter activities such as skiing and ice skating.
Another plus point is that there are fewer tourists in winter, so everything is a little emptier and more relaxed.
1. Spend quality time with your loved ones in your holiday home
2. Make use of the holiday park's wellness facilities
In winter, people often spend more time indoors than outdoors due to the cold temperatures - which provides the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with your family or best friends on a winter holiday in a holiday home!
Enjoy the cosy atmosphere together with a cup of hot cocoa and marshmallows on the sofa and simply unwind together.
Or have a film marathon, bake biscuits together and try out the Dutch cuisine together: Stamppot, for example, is a traditional Dutch dish and very easy to prepare.
The dish consists of mashed potatoes and various vegetables, depending on the type of stamppot. You can also add a delicious smoked sausage (nl: rookworst) or meatballs with sauce. You can buy the ingredients pre-cut and packaged in portions at the supermarket.
This way, you can enjoy typical Dutch cuisine on your holiday in the Netherlands and experience a little cooking adventure with your loved ones at the same time!
Wellness is always a nice addition to a great holiday. Escape the pre-Christmas stress or start the new year in a relaxed way - it's always the right time for wellness.
Some of our holiday parks have wellness areas where you can find infrared and traditional saunas, hot tubs and jacuzzis. Some parks also offer massage treatments (by appointment).
At some parks, you can also hire the wellness area for yourself or for your travel group. This way you can recharge your batteries and relax undisturbed without having to worry about strangers.
Would you like even more privacy during your wellness holiday? Then book a holiday home with a sauna, a holiday home with a whirlpool or a holiday home with a hot tub, where the wellness facilities are located directly in your holiday home.
Spending your holiday with children? Then book a holiday park that is equipped with both a swimming pool and a wellness area. This is the case at EuroParcs Marina Strandbad, for example. Here, you can relax while your children have fun swimming.
Unfortunately, there is no guarantee for snow in winter in the Netherlands. However, if you don't want to miss out on fun in the snow during your winter holiday, regardless of the weather, there are various indoor ski and ice rinks where you can let off steam at any time.
If you are spending your winter holiday at EuroParcs Kagerplassen or EuroParcs Parc du Soleil near The Hague, you can visit De Uithof sports centre.
Here you can skate, ski and snowboard, go karting, play laser games, climb, do archery and much more. You can also take lessons in skating and skiing and if you are travelling with a larger group, you can also book curling, ice hockey or snowgames as a team event.
Snowworld Zoetermeer is also located in the region around The Hague. At this franchise, you can ski and snowboard on the artificial piste at various locations in the Netherlands (and Germany), take lessons in both disciplines or go climbing.
Snowworld Landgraaf is only 10 minutes by car from EuroParcs Brunssummerheide and around 30 minutes from EuroParcs Poort van Maastricht and EuroParcs Gulperberg.
Snowworld Amsterdam is also close to our holiday parks: it's just 13 minutes by car from EuroParcs Spaarnwoude and 5 minutes from EuroParcs Buitenhuizen.
There is plenty to discover in the Netherlands in winter, as the towns and villages are festively decorated in the run-up to Christmas. There are also several Christmas markets and the atmosphere is cosy.
Go for a stroll in a nearby town, enjoy a mulled wine at a Christmas market or watch the Light Festival in Amsterdam after dark. You can do this on a walk through the city or on a boat trip directly from the water.
The Netherlands is also known for its bicycle-friendliness - and even in winter, you can take a nice leisurely ride through the countryside to explore the area. Simply hire a bike at the holiday park and whizz through small towns or nature reserves such as the Hoge Veluwe and Dwingelderveld national parks.
You can reach these quickly if you spend your winter holiday at EuroParcs De Hooge Veluwe, EuroParcs De Wije Werelt, EuroParcs De Zanding or EuroParcs Ruinen.
