1. Go hiking in the mountains

In Carinthia, you can go on high alpine tours around the Großglockner as well as day trips along high-altitude hiking trails. There are family-friendly hiking trails as well as some with a high level of difficulty for sports enthusiasts. Along the way, you can expect fantastic views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, lakes and rivers.

Discover the Millstatt gorge trail, which largely runs along a stream and has an altitude difference of around 1000 metres. The route can be shortened thanks to several entrances and exits. If you walk the whole route, it will take you around 3-5 hours, depending on your fitness level.

If you want to take it a little easier, you can choose the hiking trail to the Osnabrücker Hütte. After a hike of around 2 hours with great panoramic views of the surrounding area, you will arrive at the hut, where you can eat and spend the night. Classic Austrian cuisine is served here.

Carinthia offers a wide variety of hiking trails for every taste and fitness level. Whether you prefer a challenging tour or a relaxed stroll, the breathtaking nature and warm hospitality make every hike an unforgettable experience. Pack your hiking boots and discover the beauty of Carinthia!

2. Water fun in the Alps

Cool off in the water on hot days and add a little action to your holiday. In Carinthia, you have a wide range of options for having fun in or on the water in summer.

Visit a water sports school on Lake Wörthersee and try out stand-up-paddling, wakeboarding, water skiing or parasailing. As the lake is very suitable for these types of water sports, there is a wide range of options and many sports schools where you can try out and learn a new water sport.

Alternatively, you can also visit Lake Pressegger See or Lake Ossiach. Enjoy the Alpine panorama while you relax on a lounger by the water or jump into the cool water and play a round of ball in the lake with your family.

Those who want to experience a little more adventure can try out rafting or canyoning.

When rafting, you and your group fight your way through the roaring water, rapids and high waves of the Carinthian rivers and have a lot of fun together!

Canyoning, on the other hand, involves travelling on foot instead of by boat. Here you can experience an exciting adventure jumping into the water, sliding over slippery rocks and hiking through rivers. The gorges of Carinthia offer plenty of variety and a fantastic experience!

3. Trip to the summer toboggan run

Are you ready for an adventure? The longest summer toboggan run in Carinthia, Pendolino, offers fun for young and old. With a length of around 2 km and a height difference of 400 metres, it is a real highlight. You can set your own pace using the brake lever so that everyone can find the right speed for them.

The route runs from the Madritsche mountain station of the Millennium Express gondola lift to the Tressdorfer Alm intermediate station. The summer toboggan run is open from June to September.

A special advantage: For holders of the +CARD holiday, the ride on the mountain railway is free. You will receive this card when you arrive at your EuroParcs holiday park.

Another highlight in Carinthia is the summer toboggan run on Lake Ossiach. With a length of 760 metres and two parallel tracks, it offers twice the fun. Here, too, you can determine the speed yourself using the control lever.

There are single and double sledges, so you can whizz down the slope either alone or in pairs. Of course, you can also organise your own personal race!

A drag lift takes you comfortably to the top while you are already sitting on the sledge that will take you back down again. You can also enjoy the view of the surrounding area on the way up.

Whether Pendolino, the summer toboggan run on Lake Ossiach or another summer toboggan run in Carinthia - they all offer unforgettable experiences for the whole family. So pack your bags and experience the thrill of Carinthia's summer toboggan runs!
