Bronkhorst

Explore Bronkhorst in Gelderland. This cute village is quite small and can be crossed on foot within a few minutes, but is actually officially a town.

There is a church and several small shops in the town centre. You can learn more about the English writer at the Charles Dickens Museum and the Magdalena chocolaterie sells sweet treats that make great holiday souvenirs. After an exciting discovery tour through Bronkhorst, you can sit down in one of the three restaurants and enjoy a delicious meal.

Cute houses are dotted around the town centre, giving the town a romantic charm. Stroll through the winding alleyways, take a look at the historic farms and be enchanted by Bronkhorst and its 150 or so inhabitants.

A trip to Bronkhorst is particularly recommended if you are spending your holiday at EuroParcs Marina Standbad, as it is only around 10 minutes by car from the holiday park. EuroParcs Beekbergen (approx. 35 minutes) and EuroParcs De Achterhoek (approx. 25 minutes) are also nearby.

Watching flamingos

In the Netherlands, you can not only find flamingos in zoos or animal parks, but also in the wild.

From September to the end of April, a large group of flamingos spends the winter in the Grevelingenmeer. This is because they can also find food here in winter, whereas this is not guaranteed in their breeding area in the Zwillbrocker Venn in Germany.

Stand on the Oude-Tonge dike between September and April and enjoy the view of the pink-coloured birds.

Watch them wading through the water and eating crabs and take some nice holiday photos. Or combine this experience with a lovely cycle tour through the Zeeland countryside.

Visit the flamingos in the Grevelingenmeer during your stay at EuroParcs Poort van Zeeland or EuroParcs De Biesbosch and don't miss out on this natural phenomenon!

Bloemenpark Appeltern

If you want to take a trip into nature but have had enough of dikes, polders and sheep, the Garden Inspiration Park Bloemenpark Appeltern is the right destination for you.

In this exhibition, you can marvel at over 200 different show gardens and get tips and ideas for your own garden at home. To see all the gardens, simply follow the signposted route through the park.

The park is open daily from March to the end of October. There are also regular activities, workshops and themed weekends. You can find the current events on the Bloemenpark Appeltern website.

The holiday park EuroParcs De Kraaijenbergse Plassen is located close to the park. It is an ideal starting point for a trip to the garden inspiration park, as it only takes around 30 minutes by car to get there.

Groesbeek - Picnic among the Dutch vineyards

In the south of the Netherlands, the landscape is hilly and offers good conditions for winegrowing.

Near Nijmegen is the village of Groesbeek, which is still relatively unknown to tourists. Here, you can enjoy a cozy picnic among the vines with your loved ones.

Seven different wineries have been growing wine here on around 10 hectares since 2001. Try the different wines at a wine tasting, book a guided tour through the vines and let the winegrowers tell you more about the grapes.

Or explore the area on your own on foot or by bike and enjoy the beautiful views over the hilly Limburg landscape.

Groesbeek and its vineyards are a particularly good excursion destination if you are spending your summer vacation at EuroParcs De Kraaijenbergse Plassen, which is only around 20 minutes away by car.

Bridgerton feeling on the Castle Route in Gelderland

The 8 Castles Route is a great tip for cycling fans. It is the oldest marked cycle route in the Netherlands and, in addition to the eight different castles along the way, also offers fantastic views of the surrounding fields and forests, babbling brooks and cute villages. Fans of "Bridgerton" and "Downtown Abbey" will get their money's worth here!

The route, which is around 45 kilometers long, is signposted with yellow signs. This means you don't have to keep looking at the map to check whether you're still on the right track, but can concentrate fully on the beautiful surroundings.

Take a break in between to go for a walk in the castle gardens or have a little picnic. You can even visit Vorden Castle and Hackfort Castle from the inside.

Along the way, you will also pass a tea garden and a coffee house where you can take a break.

Combine a cycle tour along the 8 Castles Route with a stay at EuroParcs Marina Strandbad, EuroParcs Beekbergen or EuroParcs De Hooge Veluwe and enjoy a biking holiday in the Netherlands.
