When you think of Beverwijk, you quickly think of the Bazaar or the Black Market. It is in fact one of the largest covered markets in Europe. The Beverwijk Bazaar is open every weekend and attracts an average of forty thousand visitors. You can easily drive to Beverwijk from one of our holiday parks. Moreover, Beverwijk is less than a ten minute drive from Wijk aan Zee and IJmuiden.
A lot of history in Beverwijk has unfortunately disappeared, but the center still has some older buildings. Especially the church De Wijker Toren and 't Slot van Koninghsberchen are eyecatchers.
Visitors come from far and wide to visit the Beverwijk Bazaar. The black market has more than three hundred stalls, seven hundred shops and about seventy eateries. You will find seven large halls such as the Grand Bazaar, the Oriental Market and the Goudsouk. Each hall has its own atmosphere. You can go there for Turkish and Oriental to Dutch items. From clothing and jewelry to furniture and make-up. The Bazaar is best known for the quality of its leather jackets.
From Beverwijk you can easily reach the beach of IJmuiden and Wijk aan Zee. The varied dune landscape of the North Holland Dune Reserve is also just around the corner. The rolling landscape of the Zuid-Kennemerland National Park is best explored by bike or on foot. Who knows, maybe you'll stand eye to eye with a Scottish Highlander.
