Want to discover Drenthe? EuroParcs has the perfect park for you: EuroParcs Ruinen! When will you visit this holiday park?
At EuroParcs Ruinen, cosy holidays, maximum nature experience and the comfort you know from us all come together in one holiday park. We are very proud of this park because of its pleasant atmosphere and beautiful location near 3 National Parks in Drenthe, including National Park Dwingelderveld. In this blog: 5 reasons to visit this park.
2. You can (winter) camp there
Whether you go on holiday in the countryside with your partner, the kids, your grandpa or grandma or even alone. EuroParcs Ruinen has fine facilities for everyone to make your holiday complete. There are playgrounds all over the park, there is a cosy animation club with a small children's farm and you can make a splash in the indoor swimming pool. But what makes this park really unique is the large nature playground. Here, the little ones can enjoy themselves endlessly, while parents can enjoy a snack and a drink on the terrace of the restaurant opposite. And how about hitting a ball on the completely renovated and challenging Adventure Minigolf course?
The first thing you will notice when you enter the holiday park is the peace and quiet of nature that comes over you. The flora, fauna and location of the holiday park give you that real holiday feeling! On EuroParcs Ruinen you'll find a number of large, beautifully maintained camping fields where you can pitch your tent and then plop down with your feet in the grass. The sanitary building is also centrally located and therefore always close to your pitch. You can also camp in winter thanks to the furnished 'all season' glamping tents. These tents are equipped with a pellet stove, so you will always be warm in the winter.
If you go to EuroParcs Ruinen, bring your bicycle or rent one at the park. Within five minutes of cycling you will find yourself in the heart of Dwingelderveld National Park, also known as the largest wet heathland in Europe. Who knows, you might even come across the caretakers of this nature reserve: two flocks of sheep with a shepherd. The Dwingelderveld visitor centre is the perfect starting point for your walk or cycle trip through the park. Be surprised by the biodiversity, peace and quiet of the Drenthe countryside.
The choice in accommodation types at EuroParcs Ruinen is very diverse. This means that the holiday park has a suitable accommodation for everyone! So even for the 'back to basics' campers, luxury couples, bird watchers, lovebirds or families with children among us, there is a suitable accommodation at the park. But perhaps you would like to try something completely different. Have you seen the XXL Tree House, Drentse Kap or Solo Retreat? Or maybe you and your group of friends would like to stay in a 10-person Glamping family lodge in unspoilt nature instead of a luxury villa on the beach.
Speel- en ijsboerderij De Drentse Koe (The Drenthe Cow play and icecream farm) is about a 10-minute drive from EuroParcs. This farm has been completely transformed into a large play farm! You can climb, jump and clamber around all day, pet the farm animals and eat a 'Drentse Koe Ice Cream', made from fresh cow's milk. Frederiksoord with its museum De Proefkolonie is also a must to visit if you are interested in Dutch history. Here you will discover the story of Johannes van den Bosch and his Maatschappij van Weldadigheid.
So when are you going to EuroParcs Ruinen? Check out this great holiday park!
